Interventions Used in Therapy

Cognitive Therapy. Teaching clients to identify self-defeating thoughts, reframe them, or replace them with more helpful thoughts.
Behavioral Therapy. Identifying and modifying self-defeating behaviors. "A behavior that protected you in the past may be defeating you in the present."
Cognitive/Behavioral Therapy. Understanding how thoughts and feelings affect behavior in either helpful or unhelpful ways.
Strength-based Therapy. Identifying attributes that you can build on in order to improve your life. "Believing in yourself in one area can carry over into other areas."
Insight-oriented Therapy. Understanding underlying issues that impact present functioning is often the first step toward permanent change.
Psychoeducational Therapy. Providing information to demystify mental health issues.
Abreactive Therapy. Reliving traumatic events in a safe and supportive atmosphere in order to be released from the after-effects of these events.
Couples Counseling. Working with couples to resolve issues through improving communication and self-defeating relationship dynamics.
